At the age of 64, Tom Walkinshaw died Sunday after suffering from cancer.

Most people know Walkinshaw as the engineering director for Michael Schumacher during one of his championship seasons with the Benetton Formula One team. He also was known for his victories in 1988 and 1990 with Jaguar in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Take a look at this brief Youtube video at a glance into the life of Tom Walkinshaw.

Ecclestone Survives Mugging

The 80-year old Bernie Ecclestone was robbed outside of his Formula One Holdings headquarters in Knightsbridge, central London. He was punched in the face and kicked by four men. Ecclestone was heading to his HQ with girlfriend Fabiana Flosi.

Bernie Ecclestone was taken to a London hospital and treated for a minor head injury. Since there were no other reports filed, we assume Miss Flosi was unharmed.

The bandits escaped with his jewelry worth £200,000. There are currently no arrests and officers from Westminster robbery squad have been assigned the case.

Lewis Hamilton to Wed?

After three years with his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls, Lewis Hamilton is still in no rush to tie the knot. The racer and singer both acknowledge they are at the height of their careers and are both equally happy and focused on that at the moment. However, Formula 1’s Hamilton did reveal that when he does settle down it will be with the Pussy Cat Doll.

Putin in F1. Obama in NASCAR?

Russia’s Prime Minister got behind the wheel of a Formula One race car and took the pedal to the metal—racing at 150 mph. With this event spurring into a deal with F1 to being racing in Russia in 2014, some are wondering if President Obama should also create a relationship with NASCAR. Some believe that his support of the sport could enhance his image and allow him to connect with the blue-collar Americans for future support.

Abu Dhabi F1 Fan Zone Now Open!

Last year, the F1 Fan Zone in Abu Dhabi made its entertainment debut. The event has fun for the whole family with game simulators, remote control racing, driver signings and more. This past week marked the opening of this fun event that will run for two weeks (October 28 – November 14) as part of the Yasalam festival on the Aby Dhabi Corniche.
