Office Depot Making NASCAR Go ‘Green’

Posted in NASCAR with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 7, 2010 by autoracingpower

Two new Office Depot promotions are centered around themes of reducing emissions and recycling electronics.

Office Depot and EarthEra are launching a new program, “Greener Shipping,” to reduce shipping emissions on their delivers. Office Depot encourages customers to change how they buy offices supplies. For example, increase small orders to medium sized order to reduce the frequency of shipping.

Office Depot is set to purchase EarthEra renewable energy credits to support wind and solar development. Office Depot hopes these RECs will offset the carbon footprint the Subway Fresh Fit 600 ace will create on April 10th, 2010. Office Depot wants to offset more than the cars speeding on the track, fan travel and track operations were also included in the mix.

In addition, the No. 14 Office Depot Chevy Impala will feature a ‘green’ paint scheme the day of  the race at Phoenix International Raceway.
