Sao Paulo New Street Circuit

Details have just been released regarding the new street circuit that will host this year’s IZOD IndyCar Series season opener. The race takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 14.

The circuit is approximately 2.6 miles with 11-turns. A portion of the race incoporate the Sambodromo. The Sambodromo is a permanent grandstand which is used during Sao Paulo’s Carnival parades. The grandstand will host the start/finish line and will form one of the three long straights.

The track is considered as challenging, and it will create an exciting racing atmosphere for both drivers and fans. In fact, the stadium holds about 30,000 people, so the atmosphere is sure to be envigorating.

Due to events in the area, and the major flow of traffic in such a large city, the circuit is being constructed in four sections.
